Katie Twyman-Metzger

Katie Twyman-Metzger (she/her) is the AVP-MN Youth and Adult Program Coordinator for FNVW. She is an organizer, educator, and advocate. Katie's professional work has ranged from sexual violence prevention to academic support, and it has always centered around the principle that people are most fulfilled when they're in community with others. Community, in Katie's opinion, is defined not by proximity but rather by mutual interest and collaboration. Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Catherine University. Katie is completing her Masters in Public Health with a focus on Community Health Promotion and minors in Health Equity and Sexual Health. In addition to providing training in program design and implementation, this degree has affirmed Katie's belief that meaningful change takes place when organizational leaders empower community members to identify their needs and avenues for change.

Katie currently lives in St. Paul with her wife and their very busy twin toddlers. She loves a good creative project, with a particular soft spot for storytelling. She's hopeful that her sense of humor, her vulnerability, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of others will support FNVW's mission to promote peace and justice.
